Shin Pain in Equestrian Endurance Riders

Have you experienced shin pain while endurance riding?

Many of us have, including me. In fact, there was a time I thought I’d have to give up endurance riding for good. I thought the problem was shin splints — and only when I discovered the real cause was I able to resolve the pain and keep competing.

Let me explain:

Here’s that link to “The Stick” I mentioned in the video. Of course, it’s good for more than rolling your shins. I usually have mine in my LQ to deal with all the various aches that come with distance riding.

If shin pain plagues your rides, don’t give up hope. Step one in finding a solution is to identify the actual cause. Get your doc involved as needed — it’ll be worth it!

Coming Soon: Essential Endurance Rider Fitness Program for You

Ask and you shall receive! I am currently developing the much-requested fitness program specifically for endurance riders. Woot woot!

My upcoming Essential Endurance Rider Fitness Program is designed to increase the specific stability, mobility, and cardiovascular fitness that distance riders need — all in a supportive, gentle progression that fits into your busy equestrian lifestyle.

This program is appropriate for riders who are new to personal fitness, returning after an extended break, or just not the “fitness type.” Because it focuses on the exact needs of distance riders, it will also benefit regular exercisers as a sport-specific modification to your existing routine. Plus, the program uses minimal equipment that you can use at home — no need to drive to a gym!

If you’d like to be on the mailing list and be notified when the Essential Endurance Rider Fitness Program is released, drop your email address below and I’ll be in touch!
